Enough to coat all hand surfaces. Enough hand sanitizer should be used to coat all surfaces of the hands and rubbed until dry. A tiny drop is insufficient to cover all areas. Using excessive amounts is wasteful and not necessary. The amount does matter for effectiveness—all surfaces must be covered.
